You’ve booked the tent, ordered the food, and sent the invitations. The last thing you want is guests swatting mosquitoes, dodging yellow jackets at the drink table, or stepping in an ant hill. Zero Pests offers event pest packages for backyard parties, graduation parties, weddings, showers, reunions, and other gatherings across Salem, Gloucester, and Cumberland counties. It’s a service most pest control companies don’t push, and we built it as its own offering.
Signs Your Event Needs a Pest Treatment
- You get bitten in your own yard in the afternoon or evening.
- Your property has woods, tall grass, a pond, or a creek nearby.
- You’ve noticed ant hills in the lawn where tables or a tent will go.
- Yellow jackets or wasps hang around your trash cans, deck, or eaves.
- You’re hosting indoors in a barn, garage, hall, or home that has seen mice or bugs.
Event Season in South Jersey
South Jersey’s busiest party months line up with peak pest activity. Graduation parties fill June weekends, and wedding and reunion season runs through summer into fall. In New Jersey, Asian tiger mosquitoes are generally active from about May through October and peak in July and August, and unlike many mosquitoes they bite during the day, so an afternoon party isn’t off the hook. By late summer, yellow jacket colonies are at full size and, as Rutgers notes, workers switch to sugary foods, which draws them to soda, punch, and dessert tables. Ticks are active in grassy and wooded edges much of the year.
How Ed Handles Event Spraying
Outdoor event package:
- Full property inspection
- Mosquito treatment
- Ant hill treatment
- General pest application, if needed
Indoor event package:
- Full property inspection
- Bait stations for bugs and rodents
- General pest application
Outdoor service is performed 1–3 days before your event for maximum effectiveness. Ed focuses on where guests will be and where pests hide nearby, such as shrubs, hedges, the shady side of the house, and under decks, and uses eco-friendly products with careful application. If he spots a wasp or yellow jacket nest during the inspection, he’ll let you know so it can be handled before the big day.
What to Expect
Call as soon as you have a date, especially for June graduations and Saturday weddings. Ed will ask about the venue, guest areas, and the layout, then schedule the treatment within that 1–3 day window. You’ll get a clear quote before anything is booked. Pass along a few tips to your helpers, too: dump standing water, keep drinks covered, and keep trash lidded.
Why Zero Pests
Zero Pests is veteran-owned, founded in 2025 by South Jersey locals, and run by Ed Newton, who has 23+ years in pest control and NJ pesticide license #92354B. We’ve built event service into what we do for families hosting in Mullica Hill, graduation parties around Glassboro, backyards in Swedesboro, and farm-country celebrations near Woodstown & Pilesgrove.
